After reading the reviews here I was woried to check the place. We arrive on a Monday at lunch. The place was half full. We order the full rack of ribs and the ribeye steak. The food took some 20 min to arrive. The food was good, the steak was tasty and the ribs were huge and not to fatty, the steak was cut thin but was mad perfect. The sides were really awsome and big, we didn't manage to finish nothing... All together this place is the best BBQ place I've visited in grand forks. The place is really preatty and I want to come check it some night for a drink...

Well, if you're a veggie... there is literally almost nothing you can eat here. You can make your own lavosh... but I don't think they are good. Waaaaaay too much cheese for the thin little cracker crust & this is from a cheese lover! They do have a decent selection of beers and nice array of TVs. But for me I's rather go somewhere closer to home that I can eat something with my beers when I enjoy watching a game. They do have good bloody mary's also. If you like meat, maybe the place is better. Yes, I know it's a bbq place, but even all the salads have meat....

Ordered the smokehouse Sam burger, my dining patterned ordered the same. From when we sat down to when we got our food, 45 minutes had passed. The first thing I noticed was the proportions. Huge plates, regular/small burgers in size. I had less than half the plate of fries, my partners plate was filled with fries. Then, the burger itself. Called for sautéed onions and mushrooms. We got raw onions and no mushrooms. My partners burger patty was in two pieces, making eating difficult. The buns were so small and thin they fell apart and made eating this burger messy and difficult. The flavor was bland, no Sam Adams taste as the menu said, to be found. The fries were way too greasy and way under seasoned. Our server kept bringing us sodas when we never asked, and our glasses were still 3/4 full. Not impressed here at all.

Went there on a Saturday night with a party of 13. I am not a BBQ expert, but they get starrs for how easy it was to get the group in, how well they took care of us, and that with that large of a group they got all of the tickets RIGHT. That doesn't happen very often. Also, the place was clean, which is always a bonus in my book. Beer selection also isn't bad and the deconstructed nachos earn an A+.

One of my favorite places to watch a game. They have the best boneless wings I've ever tried, and I love the variety of sauces. The smoked chicken and pork is always top notch. My other two regular orders are the bbq lavosh or the spinach salad, both of which are consistently great. Portions are HUGE, but the entrees can be a bit pricy. If you factor in how much food you get I don't think it's that bad, but judge for yourself. The drinks are great, and I've never had bad service. They have a good selection of beers and a full bar, and I believe they make their own flavored vodka for bloody marys if that's your style. Wild hog is where we take our friends from out of town. One word of advice, options are limited for vegans/vegetarians.

The servings were large, and the apps were VERY good. You won't leave hungry. The main course was average. The smoked meats were a little dry (just a little). And the BBQ sauces were unique. While I liked all three sauces, a "traditional" BBQ sauce was missing from the offerings. There was one called Hogs Breath that was smiilar to a traditional finishing sauce: Very vinegary. Another was a Honey BBQ that was incredibly sweet. The most "normal" was a peppered sauce that leaned a little towards the tangy side. None of the sauces were thick, and therefore kind of messy on bite sized food. The real oddity were the food combinations. This seemed to be a southwest and Italian fusion. For example, they serve an osso buco with smoked pork shanks. They served smoked chicken on crispy lavosh, topped with tomatoes, basil and a pesto sauce. I thought the combination were two tastes that just didn't merge well. But again, the apps! :) Hand made jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon and grilled crispy. They had a nice bite to them and were phenomenal with an ice cold beer! Or the deep fried pickle spears with a lite cheese... The fry job was perfect: Not greasy, not heavy... lite and crispy. One other bright spot was the cole slaw. I tried a pulled pork slider topped with slaw (the ONLY way to go!). The slaw was wonderful. A little tangy, a little sweet, and nice sized chunks of cabbage, etc. that held a nice crunch in the dressing. One of the best "traditional" slaws I've had. Lastly, the service was top-notch. Our waiter was a young man who knew the food well, could make recommendations, and clearly enjoyed being there.

I've never been to a BBQ place that offered only one type of ribs - and the menu doesn't tell you if they're beef or pork, spare or back ribs - they're just ribs. Other menu items were just ok. Service was also just ok. So my review bottom line: just ok. Not even OK or even Okay.

Came here for a late lunch and a brew. I ordered the $9 poppers and the came out over cooked (black). Waiter ask how they tasted and I replied overlooked and all he said was I noticed. WTF! Beer is fresh and walleye sandwich was excessive for the amount of bread it was served on (fillet three times the size of hoagie.

Obviously a wild wing knock off in appearance. The food is best described as below mediocre. The steak tasted like it was grilled with pork and that was the only part of our entire order that was warm. It wasn't overly busy when we arrived yet it took 10 minutes just to receive our drink order. The food arrived after 48 minutes and was mostly cold. The piglet sandwich was ok but nothing special so I tried the three BBQ sauces. I think they're all based on a "fusion" recipe that just didn't work. The waitress was training another waitress and was terrible. She didn't realize that a table was seated and left after 20 minutes after no acknowledgement because she spent most of the time somewhere in the back. Food trickled out one seating every few minutes and like I said before...cold. It appeared to be even worse for the next table over who was beside themselves waiting for food longer than us (!) and they were quite upset. In short....don't.

The prime rib is delicious. By far the best in town. The bar also has a decent draught selection. The deconstruction nachos were awesome. I'll be back.

This is probably an obvious statement, but a word to the wise...This place might be ok for the burgers and appetizers. Plenty of tvs for the bar/sports fans. But I wouldn't order a "real" meal here. Our steak was mostly fat and the up-charges on the sides are definitely not worth it. Extra $3.00 for a "large" salad = more iceberg lettuce. Our fault for ordering this, but we won't make the same mistake twice.

I've eaten at Wild Hog twice now, and while it's not the best BBQ I've ever had, I think it stacks up well against all of the other local eateries in town. Wild Hog tries to be a Sportsbar type place, as evidenced by the tv sets covering seemingly every wall. There's a bar area as well as a dining area that seems to offer ample room. The food's not bad, but not really great either. I think their menu is a bit too varied and requires some fine tuning. It's almost if they cannot decide what they want to serve. You can order burgers, pulled pork, deep fried sausages, fish tacos, pulled pork tacos, and lavosh. Quite the amount of choices for a place that purports to be Grand Forks' finest BBQ establishment. I've had the Little Pig - which is a several servings of meat (brisket, pulled pork) on two slices of thick Texas toast accompanied by some french fries. Not bad, but the BBQ meats could use some work. It's tough to discern the wood-smoked qualities present in the BBQ cooking method. Disappointing. On a second visit, I opted for the pulled pork tacos, just out of curiosity's sake. Meh. You only get two tacos and they are packed too full, which resulted in my corn tortillas falling apart. Not good. It's also served with chips and salsa, which is a welcome change, but ultimately disappointing. They are accompanied with a watery form of salsa. Not sure if it came from a can or was homemade, but it's not that good. Wild Hogs also has a bottle of their Honey BBQ Sauce at every table and after having it multiple times, I still say it's too sweet. It's got a lot of honey in it, but beyond sweetness there's not much else there in the way of flavor. Again, something else that needs fine-tuning. Overall, Wild Hogs is a decent enough place. I just think they need to tighten some things on their menu, work on their BBQ technique, and replace some honey with flavor in their signature sauce. C'mon, not all of us in the area are Norweigans who think ketchup is spicy (j/k to my Norse friends...maybe).

How can this place have any less then 5 stars. Food was awesome, service was the best, and the multiple vodka drinks....Clean, new menus (saw that was a con another review). I have one complaint, and only one...As a BBQ place, serving pork...you have no XXL t shirts...big people visit there...let us wear you :) Also, our bar tender, Brittney, have gotta say, nicest person I met in ND. Just a great place, and a must visit if you're in ND. Also, on an unrelated note...what's up with all the beet farms driving north? I never like beets...mother always forced them on me. :)
